"Huni Halad Alang Kang Sto. Niño de Cebu Songwriting Contest"

1. The HUNIÑO Songwriting Competition is open to all amateur and professional composers.

2. The entry song must be an original composition of an individual or a collaborative work of the composer and the lyricist.

3. All songs must be liturgically related.

4. The song(s) submitted for screening must not have been published or performed publicly.

5. All songs must not exceed 5 minutes.

6. The lyrics may be in Cebuano, Tagalog or English or a combination.

7. The contestants may submit as many entries as they want. However, only one song will become a finalist based on the highest rank during the screening.

8. A song may be submitted with only a guitar or piano accompaniment. A complete musical arrangement of entries is also welcome.

9. A contestant must submit one entry form per song together with 10 copies of the lyric’s sheet, a demo cassette tape or CD of the song. Place all materials in a short brown envelope. Nothing must be written outside the envelope, on the cassette tape or CD nor on the lyric’s sheet except the title of the song.

10. Entry forms may be obtained at the Rector’s Office at the Basilica del Sto. Niño, Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City (Tel. No. 2556697 to 99 local 400).

11. All entries must be submitted to the Rector’s Office at the Basilica del Sto. Niño.

12. Deadline for submission of entries is on March 15, 2010 at 4pm.

13. Grand finals will be on April 27, 2010, Tuesday, 7:30pm to be held at the Sto. Pilgrim Center in front of the Basilica del Sto. Niño Church.

14. All Augustinian friars and seminarians of the Province of Sto. Niño de Cebu – Philippines are exempted from joining this competition.

Best Interpreter Php 10,000.00 plus Trophy

Each of the magic 12 finalists will automatically receive Php 5,000.00 plus a plaque.
